Cow Dung Can Cool the Planet and Give Energy As Well

There are cows practically everywhere. Cows are an everyday source of meat and milk for people but not everything that comes out of it is appreciated by many. Take for instance cow dung. A lot of people would want to stay clear of it for obvious reasons. But the truth is that cow dung is really a good resource as good as milk. The reason is because cow dung burns well and long when dry. In fact, it's used by many cultures in cooking food. When cow dung burns, methane, a greenhouse gas, is released into the atmosphere, supposedly contributing to global warming.

So, if cow dung is supposed to contribute to climate change, how can farmers contribute to the prevention of global warming by using cow dung as fuel? The answer is to do so in a systematic and managed way that harvests the methane from the waste product to be used as fuel. Yes, methane is one of the fuels of choice of people and it's usually sourced elsewhere. Now, because of biofuel technology and techniques, cow dung can now be processed to produce the useful gas, which is stored, and not released in the atmosphere. It's one way farmers can create energy for their own farms as well as be producers for the country.

Save Money with Eco Friendly Driving

by Paul McIndoe

The credit crunch and fuel prices have rarely been out of the news recently. When you combine this with the stark environmental warnings regarding CO2 emissions, it puts motorists under more pressure, both in terms of finance and conscience.

Clearly it's just not practical for everyone to use public transport on a daily basis, so when you have to use your own car or a work vehicle, there are a number of steps you can make to your driving style that can help the environment and your wallet at the same time.

Eco-friendly driving is a term that's been used more frequently in recent years. It covers a whole range of different aspects that are easy to implement into your daily journeys. The first of these is driving at a more even speed. Every day on the roads you'll see people in urban areas accelerating harshly only to be stopped in their tracks by a set of traffic lights around the corner or a vehicle that's obeying the limit. This rapid burst of speed of course means that they have to use their brakes more fiercely than normal too. Driving in this way only ever really achieves two things: wasting fuel and wearing down your car's controls.

Driving at a consistent and even speed whenever possible results in less CO2 being pumped into the atmosphere as well as preserving your fuel and brake components. By planning ahead and anticipating both the conditions and other road users, you can tailor your speed accordingly and also be in a position to brake more evenly and progressively rather than slamming them on at the last available moment.

There are other simple eco-friendly driving habits you can adopt, such as ensuring you're in the correct gear for your speed, changing into neutral when you've stopped at traffic lights - even switching off your engine if you're in a jam, and it's clear you won't be moving for a few minutes. Other things like driving with weight in the boot that you don't need to be carrying, poorly inflated tyres, and even having the radio on when you're not even listening to it will all increase your fuel consumption and the more you use, the more your emissions will be.

Another area where you can make a significant environmental impact is by switching fuels. Regardless of what fuel your vehicle uses just now, you can have it converted to use Liquefied Petroleum Gas or LPG and petrol. By using LPG you will cut down your emissions considerably and without affecting the performance and miles per gallon rate. Changing your vehicle to one with a smaller engine, can also help with emissions and put a smile on your face when buying road tax or getting a car insurance quote.

These are just some of the key areas where you can improve your driving, help the environment and save yourself money too. By implementing these small steps, you can bring about a lot of positive changes.

Water Powered Car

by Gordon Powles

Is it really possible to have a water powered car?

Fuel price are going up like crazy at the moment and there seems to be no stop to this price increase war of the fuel prices. Owning and driving a car is getting more and more expensive as the fuel prices keep rising.

Where there's a problem, there must be a solution.

A Scientist has found a way to convert your car into a hydrogen fuel car that can run on water, that's right water, (a water powered car). No longer will you need to pay for the high price fuel.

You can simply add water into your car and runs the same as using fuel.

So how do you convert your car to a water powered car? That is the big question you ask.

You will have to install a hydrogen fuel cell car engine in your car to allow it to combust water to produce the energy. Luckily, installing a hydrogen fuel cell engine to your car is simple and very easy.

Just imagine the amount of fuel you will be saving when you run your car on water. Because it can even run on salt water, and sea water is free of charge for you to use to run your car.

Having a water powered car not only helps you to save money on fuel, you are also helping planet earth by emitting less pollution to the environment. Converting your car into a water powered car is not as difficult as you think it. With a proper manual that can guide you through the whole process step by step, the whole process of converting your car into water powered car can be done for under $100 using half a day.

The basic principle is by using electrolysis (electricity) water can be converted into two types of flammable gases - Hydrogen and Oxyhydrogen. This is done by rearranging the same three atoms found in water H2O into a different molecular structure, you get a gas called HHO that burns very well and releases a lot of energy in the process.

The source of electricity you need to convert water is found in the car battery. However, you will need to know how to use the car battery to electrolyze the water to convert into either Hydrogen gas or Oxyhydrogen gas. Once converted you will also have to navigate this gas into your gas tank to mix with the gasoline. By doing this, you are converting water into fuel, using water as an alternative fuel for your car and making water powered car.

When you are driving, your car battery will turn some of the water to gas, which will act as an energy supplement to the gas you pump into your car. By converting your car to a water powered car, you will increase your mileage and save a lot of money. It estimated that it is a 40% saving in fuel costs. To make your water powered car, you will need professional guidance or at least an experienced mechanic to modify your car to run on water.

You can find out a step-by-step guide on how to turn you car into a water powered car here.

We Could Fix the Gas Crises Tomorrow

by David Rosenak

We could solve the gas crises tomorrow! That's right, literally, tomorrow. And no, it's not complicated, not difficult, it doesn't require enormous sacrifice or investment. The average driver, without replacing the car they have, and without changing the miles they drive, could reduce their fuel consumption by 20% simply by driving sanely.

When approaching a stop or a turn, take your foot off the gas a block before - if you have never done it, you'll be amazed at how far a car can coast without appreciably slowing. When accelerating, lightly touch the pedal, don't jump on it. Take your foot off the gas pedal anytime to slow down, rather than to use the brake, coast down hills and highway ramps. On the highway, keep a full two second gap between you and the car ahead, so you can drive at a steady pace - most drivers in heavy traffic are continuously braking and re-accelerating, wasting gas. And perhaps most importantly, most cars have maximum fuel efficiency at 55 to 60 mph. At speeds above that efficiency falls off precipitously. At 75 mph you use one third more gas per mile you drive than you do at 55. Keep your car maintained - clean air filter and fuel filter, fresh oil, and particularly, properly inflated tires are all important elements in improving fuel efficiency.

Try it! You may find that besides saving a bunch of money, that you'll feel good about yourself, good about helping your Nation and helping Planet Earth.

Do you really think that the few minutes you might save by driving like a maniac is worth keeping ourselves dependent and beholden to the dictators who control the world's remaining supply of oil? Is it really worth burning up this precious resource that we are stealing from our children, our grandchildren, and future generations? Is it really worth polluting the air we breathe, and the atmosphere that regulates the planet's climate?

At this time, the world's ability to pump oil out of the ground is just equal to the rate at which the world is burning it up. Oil prices are determined by a worldwide market. There are millions of speculators who are betting that the world will continue to burn it up faster, and that supply will not be able to keep up.

Fully one quarter of the world supply of oil is consumed in the United States. If The United States could show the national resolve to reduce gas consumption by even 10%, that would produce an immediate surplus of 2 million barrels of oil a day - within days there would be no place to store that much oil. Speculators would jump off the oil market like rats off a sinking ship. The price of a barrel of oil on the world market would Tumble.

Of course, reducing gas consumption through driving for fuel efficiency is just a step. The longer term solution is to trade-in the gas guzzlers for far more efficient vehicles, and eventually, to find the energy source that will replace oil as a fuel.

We once had a National leader who resolved to put a man on the moon! Where is the National leader who will resolve to end our dependence on oil?
